Albufeira,
the favorite local seaside town, is only a 10 minute walk from Areias Residence.
With its extensive sandy beach dotted with colorful fishing boats and a
dramatic natural backdrop of steep sandstone cliffs.
The oldest part of town has quaint whitewashed buildings and Moorish arches,
while the newer parts are lower down the hill, with a tunnel linking the
main
beach to the town centre.
